this board is for discussing the recipes in the IVU Recipes Around the World European section.
let us know if you have tried one of the recipes, how it came out, and any suggestions for improving it!

Hello everybody! My name is Lina, and I'm Greek.
The reason why I write this very moment, is because I want to clear the name of the "greek salad".
I have read your recipe, and more or less it's the same thing that you usually find in foreign countries (when I say foreign, I mean not Greece), when they think that they serve greek salad.
If anybody is interested in the real recipe, here it is:
Tomatos Cucumber 1 onion Feta cheese Extra virgin olive oil Oregano Salt
That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. No letuce, no vinegar, no lemon, no garlic, no pepper, no lemon, no capsicurn, no tofu, no nothing else.
Occasionaly you might see it served with 2-3 black olives, but this is just for the decoration.
That's it, I don't know if anybody will read this ever, but I just had to defend the salad from the torture that it suffers in recipes and restaurants everywhere else, but Greece.
By the way, you may call it greek, but we call it village salad.
Bye bye!!!
